friday evening ... i am home and finally, finally can find some time to sit down and blog.
wont go into too much details though as am tired.
so this wk the main highlights were 2 school visits on thurs and fri respectively, and my presentation today of which the 3 associate directors of my branch attended! it is really damn nerve wrecking i tell you, having to get up there and speak to a room full of adults who are 1000 times more qualified & knowledgeable than yourself. and i only had 1.5 days to prepare for it.
nevertheless i pulled through and even earned praises for my presentation, although i hope they werent praising me just to be nice cos any one could see that i was scared shitless.
the school visits were certainly an eye-opener and very informative. i will be working with one of the schools to help them with data analysis. this is why i need to read up on SPSS again but i dont have the time! :( now that my presentation is over i need to work on my 2 lit reviews.
next wk will be visiting 2-3 more schs. i like sch visits cos it helps break the monotony of sitting in the office the whole day. will also be undergoing training by my supervisor to conduct tests in schs! tell me how cool is that. EXCITED! :D :D :D
this wkend i will also need to work on my masters applications, submission date is end of the month. the thought of filling in all the forms, attaching the relevant documents....... SIAN!
so as you can see i am super busy, every week i have 2-3 events or more to handle. i guess the plus side is that i get a lot of exposure, and it will certainly be beneficial for my resume. imagine, i dont even have time to check my email! it doesnt help that my internet connection in the office hasnt been set up yet. haiii.
dont get the wrong idea, i love my job. or more appropriately, i love the job environment. my colleagues are all extremely nice. although im just an intern/temp staff, they still treat me like one of them and are not standoffish at all as one would have expected. and for this i am really, really thankful that i landed a placement here cos how many are as fortunate? so i may whine a bit about the work load but its a small price to pay in exchange for the experience gained, the friends made, and the knowledge acquired :)
