work has been keeping me on my toes.. i never really have a free day, there's always something going on. but i guess thats good in the sense that it makes time pass more quickly..

the weekends are the time for me to kick back and relax, throw on a comfy tee, shorts and slippers and head out.. omg why do they make work clothes so uncomfortable and restrictive? and not only that, they are expensive -_-" all my casual clothes are just rotting away in my cupboard...

i want to watch fireworks on national day.. anyone know of a place with a good view and few crowds?

i cant believe 1wk just flew by like that.. and here i am again at home blogging on a friday evening.. just too tired to go anywhere else, plus overtimed today..

very very busy all the way till 1st wk august..

have a lot of school visits coming up where i'll have to go down and administer tests to the kids (each kid takes abt 30-40 mins)... also will be doing interviews..

thank god i finished both my lit reviews this wk, cos no way would i have the time to complete them now since ill be out of office a lot.. sigh!

i think the amount of work i do in 1 month is more than some pple do in 6 months, or a year even..

suddenly i feel like going back to studying again... haha.

no time to go online
no time to check mail
no time to shop
no time to read
no time to watch tv
barely enough time to slp

hai and thats my life for now :'(

friday evening ... i am home and finally, finally can find some time to sit down and blog.
wont go into too much details though as am tired.

so this wk the main highlights were 2 school visits on thurs and fri respectively, and my presentation today of which the 3 associate directors of my branch attended! it is really damn nerve wrecking i tell you, having to get up there and speak to a room full of adults who are 1000 times more qualified & knowledgeable than yourself. and i only had 1.5 days to prepare for it.

nevertheless i pulled through and even earned praises for my presentation, although i hope they werent praising me just to be nice cos any one could see that i was scared shitless.

the school visits were certainly an eye-opener and very informative. i will be working with one of the schools to help them with data analysis. this is why i need to read up on SPSS again but i dont have the time! :( now that my presentation is over i need to work on my 2 lit reviews.

next wk will be visiting 2-3 more schs. i like sch visits cos it helps break the monotony of sitting in the office the whole day. will also be undergoing training by my supervisor to conduct tests in schs! tell me how cool is that. EXCITED! :D :D :D

this wkend i will also need to work on my masters applications, submission date is end of the month. the thought of filling in all the forms, attaching the relevant documents....... SIAN!

so as you can see i am super busy, every week i have 2-3 events or more to handle. i guess the plus side is that i get a lot of exposure, and it will certainly be beneficial for my resume. imagine, i dont even have time to check my email! it doesnt help that my internet connection in the office hasnt been set up yet. haiii.

dont get the wrong idea, i love my job. or more appropriately, i love the job environment. my colleagues are all extremely nice. although im just an intern/temp staff, they still treat me like one of them and are not standoffish at all as one would have expected. and for this i am really, really thankful that i landed a placement here cos how many are as fortunate? so i may whine a bit about the work load but its a small price to pay in exchange for the experience gained, the friends made, and the knowledge acquired :)

i am supposed to be doing my research now, but have stopped for awhile to blog.
brief update on work...

my working hours are mon-fri, 8.30am to 5pm.
so yes, im only free in the evenings although im pretty stoned by then so not advisable to meet me till the weekend.

the plus side that im just a 5min bus ride away from town. not that it really matters, im already sick and tired of town and dont like the rush hour crowd.

10000000 pple have been asking me what my job involves so i shall repeat it again (with some additional info): research, lit reviews, data analysis, school visits, meetings.

the branch that im working with is the special education branch, we deal with all the spore schs for kids with disabilities.

the moe im located at is the one at grange road.

thats abt it in a nutshell.

currently have 2 assignments.. i have to research and do 2 lit reviews.. i have 20+ articles to read through, and thats just the articles.. i havent even touched any bks yet.. why does this feel like im doing my thesis all over again? *sigh*

i also need to revise my spss.

moe has provided me with a laptop, but its highly unlikely you'll see me on msn cos im not sure if they're monitoring what we're doing online, so better not take the risk right? i tried to access facebook using the library computers and it worked though lol. and then by the time i get home i use just abt what little energy i have left to shower, check my mail, surf a few sites & tts it. after that i collapse and sleep till the next morning. so sorry if ill be MIA-ing for the next 6 months. haha.

aside from myself there is another intern who started work at the same time. same age, and shes from nus majoring in psych. i would say we get along well :) but she's only gonna be here for a month and after that ill be all alone :( hopefully by then ill be more familiar with the whole moe system. right now still quite lost. thankfully most of the staff are nice, even my supervisors are so friendly and bother to chit-chat with us iterns :)

on the first day of work, i was fortunate enough to attend a branch meeting and it was such an eye-opener although i just sat there quietly in the corner and listened.

ok thats enough abt work.

yesterday was T7 class gathering. had prata for dinner and ice cream for dessert. some of them went pubbing after tt but i was too tired to join. was fun though, the 3hrs spent catching up with old classmates. so many pple working now.. its amazing to see all the different directions in life we've taken.. i think everyone has matured.. its only a matter of time before the wedding invitations start pouring in. hahahaha.

enough of blogging, back to researching ... its been awhile since i had so much to write about!!

All the words that we have to say
They don't leave when the moment comes
We know we have to wait
As the days go on and the places fade away
to dirt and to dust, it all fades away

And the waiting is the hardest thing to take
In a moment more before we break

If you have to let it go
And these dreams keep you awake
If you have to let it go
Walk away
